About Us...

Dr. Tim Marrow has served as pastor of the church since August, 1990. He is a graduate of Howard Payne University, Brownwood, Texas and also has two degrees, the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Seminary, Ft. Worth, Texas

Cindy Harrison: Minister of Ed/Admin began her ministry at FBCWA in February 1989 when the church met in homes with eight families and now we average 375 in Sunday school. She considers it an honor and privilege to be able to serve with such faithful, loving and gifted leaders that God has led to FBCWA. They are second to none! She is married and has four grown children (a daughter, son and two wonderful kids by-law).

Danny Marsh: Minister of Music & Media an Albuquerque native, joined the staff at FBCWA full time in September 2006. What a blessing it is to lead people to the throne of God each week during our times of worship, leading the music ministries and technology team.

Matt Thackerson: Minister of Students began serving FBCWA as Minister of Students (grades 7 - 12) June 2007. Matt directs and oversees all youth discipleship, ministries and activities.

History

First Baptist Church of West Albuquerque began as a mission/home Bible study in the fall of 1988 on Albuquerque’s growing west side. As the mission grew, the home Bible studies moved into the Montano Plaza Shopping strip and was there until the church moved into their present location at 6400 Golf Course Rd. NW, June, 1996.

     The church incorporated in the Spring, 1990, with seventy members. FBCWA is a Southern Baptist Church, a member of the Baptist Convention of New Mexico and part of the Central Baptist Association.
